Download Ledger® Live (Desktop & Mobile), set up your Ledger® device, and resolve common login / verification problems.
What is Ledger.com/start?
Ledger® maintains Ledger.com/start as the official entry point for setting up a hardware wallet and installing Ledger® Live. Ledger® Live is the companion app — available as Ledger Live Desktop and the Ledger Live App for mobile — used to manage accounts, send & receive coins, install apps and update firmware on your Ledger® device.
Download & Install Ledger® Live
Visit Ledger.com/start and choose your device model.
Download Ledger® Live Desktop for Windows, macOS or Linux, or get the Ledger Live App from the App Store / Google Play.
Install and open Ledger® Live, pick "Get started" then choose "Initialize as new device" or "Restore device" (if you have a recovery phrase).
Follow on-screen steps to connect your hardware Ledger® and complete setup (PIN creation, firmware update if prompted).
If your Ledger® Live login fails or the app shows errors like "Error connecting account" or "Can't verify Ledger Wallet", try these steps:
Ensure firmware & Ledger® Live are up to date; install any pending updates.
Use an original USB cable and connect directly to your computer (avoid hubs). Try another USB port.
Restart Ledger® Live and the hardware device; unlock the device with your PIN before attempting login.
On mobile, toggle Bluetooth (for devices supporting BLE) and make sure app permissions are allowed.
If Ledger® Live reports "Unable to connect", open the Manager and reinstall the app for the affected currency, then re-add the account.
For persistent errors, consult the Ledger® Help Center or export logs from Ledger® Live and contact support.
Account Recovery & 2FA
Ledger® hardware wallets use a recovery phrase (24 words). If your device is lost or damaged, recover funds by restoring this phrase to a new Ledger® device or compatible wallet. Ledger® does not store your recovery phrase and cannot recover it for you.
Ledger® does not use conventional hosted 2FA for device access — the device's PIN and recovery phrase are the security roots. If you're referencing a service-level 2FA reset (for an online account tied to Ledger®), follow the service provider's reset flow; Ledger® cannot reset third-party 2FA.
Unable to Ledger Trezor — migrating from Trezor?
If you have a Trezor and want to migrate to Ledger®, you can export or use the recovery phrase to restore on a Ledger® that supports your coins. Follow careful migration steps and never share your phrase; consider transferring small test amounts first.
